Panaji, Nov 11 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) The jury of International Film Festival of India’s (IFFI) Feature Film section has selected Kannada movie Bhageerathi and Marathi film Bharat Mazza Desh Aahe for screening under the Indian Premier section during the festival.
Bhageerathi, directed by Dr Baraguru Ramchandrappa is based on a kannada folk ballad ‘Kerege Haara’ (A Sacrifice for a tank).
Whereas Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar’s directed movie Bharat Mazza Desh Aahe (India is My Country) depicts a story of a common family dealing with value problems amongst the family and simultaneously experiencing the everyday corruption possibilities in their social life.
The Indian Panorama will screen 24 feature films chosen from many parts of the Country and open with Santosh Sivan directed Malayalam feature film ‘Urumi’ starring Prithviraj, Prabhu Deva, Genelia D’Souza Vidhya Balan, American actor Alex O’ Neil and others.
The 10-day IFFI extravaganza is scheduled to begin on November 23 with its opening ceremony to be held in Margao, South Goa. The main festival will be spread between Panaji and Margao.
