Johnny Depp starrer film ‘The Rum Diary’ to release in India

Mumbai, Oct 29 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) PVR Pictures will release Hollywood actor Johnny Depp’s next English movie ‘The Rum Diary’ on 4th November in India.

’The Rum Diary’ gives Depp chance to play yet another crack at playing Thompson.

Paul Kemp played by Jonny Depp is a freelance journalist who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean.

Paul is challenged on many levels as he tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself, amidst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.

Depp earlier has also played a character based on Hunter S. Thompson, after starring in Terry Gilliam’s 1998 adaptation of ‘Fear And Loathing’ In Las Vegas.

The stench of cheap booze, stale cigarettes, newsprint and pre-air- conditioning sweat wafts off the screen in ‘The Rum Diary’. It’s Johnny Depp’s second tribute to his friend, the late journalist and fellow Kentucky native Hunter S. Thompson.
