London, Feb 23 (Calcutta Tube) Singer Jessica Simpson, who was heartbroken when her beloved dog Daisy went missing last year, has wanted to have a pig as pet. She wrote on her Twitter page, ‘I’m thinking about getting a pet pig. Does this mean I’ll have to give up pork?’ The singer has been criticized by animal rights group PETA for her desire to adopt a pig – accusing her of flaunting pets as her ‘latest accessory’.

However, activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have hit out at Simpson for considering owning the farm pet, reports contactmusic.com

‘Pigs, who are smarter than dogs and every bit as sensitive to pain and stress, don’t belong in Jessica’s stomach or carted around as her latest accessory,’ said a PETA spokesperson.
