Kolkata, Oct 24 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Bengali actor and dancer Jaya Seal Ghosh on Saturday launched “I Can”, a book with stories on how children are changing their world.
Published by Amar Chitra Katha, the book was launched at the Starmark on Lord Sinha Road in the presence of children and in partnership with Design for Change School Contest and Anando, a Kolkata based NGO, which works on issues related to the protection and education of disadvantaged children.
Children participating at the launch also expressed their wishes in writing.
The book contains 20 inspirational stories of change by children from India and the world as a tribute to the power of children, who are walking that extra mile to live what Gandhiji said “Be the Change you want to see in this world”.
Anando is one of the Top Twenty Winners of the Design for Change Contest 2010.
Design for Change School Contest is a global movement designed to give young people an opportunity to express their own ideas for a better world and put them into action.
Children and adults alike have learnt through the Design for Change Challenge that “I Can” are the two most powerful words a person can believe.
