New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) Luxury automobile maker Jaguar Friday launched its XF sport sedan’s diesel variant priced at Rs.48.37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
‘The launch comes after we received a huge response to our XF’s petrol version. We have received a pre-launch booking of 60 cars,’ said Rohit Suri, head – premier car division, Jaguar and Land Rover, India.
According to the company, the state-of-the-art automobile is powered by a 3.0 litre AJ-V6diesel S twine sequential turbocharged engine, with 275 PS and 600 Nm of torque.
‘Jaguar’s six-speed ZF 6HP28 automatic transmission can accelerate the Diesel-S from 0-100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds,’ said the company in a statement.
The automobile features technologies such as drive selector, drive control, sequential shift and stability control with trac DSC mode.
The car’s interiors includes premium features such as soft grain leather seats, phosphor blue halo illumination lights, interior mood lighting, seven-inch full colour touch-screen display and key-less entry and start.
‘The new Diesel XF introduced in India has been customized by Jaguar engineers for the Indian market and adapted for Indian conditions,’ the statement said.
The launch follows the sports-sedan’s petrol variants launch in 2009 and the supercharged XFR model in the same year.
The company further said that it was in the process of developing 10 dealerships with adequate support facilities in 10 major cities in the country.
Currently the luxury automobile manufacturer markets its car brands through three showroom-dealerships in three Indian cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
