Appearing in a black velvet outfit with vertical gold embroidery from designer duo Shane and Falguni Peacock, Irrfan upped the glam quotient and received loud cheers from the audience.
“I am honoured that Falguni and Shane have given me this opportunity and I hope I did justice to it,” Irrfan remarked.
The internationally acclaimed designer duo showcased their Peacock Bride collection which showcased a line-up of flared lehengas, sarees and sexy cholis in a medley of colours, sprinkled with feathers and crystals with net, chiffon and satin as the base materials.
“This collection isn’t only about the bride but it’s for the entire family and for the whole duration of the marriage functions. We have also taken care of the accessories department as jewels are very important if you are looking to dress the bride,” Shane said.
The night was marked by a display of Madrid based designer Ana Locking who had previously earned a lot of international fame and is currently associated with the Madrid Fashion Week.
She put on display a collection entitled Stance marked by garments with intense contrast and in a gala of colours ranging from camel, mustard and nude to beige and black in fabrics such as crepe de chine, crepe satin, cashmere silk Mikado, silk serge, muslin and cotton poplin.
“My collection is for both men and women. I wanted the women to look sensual and for men the dresses have been classically tailored,” Ana said.
Miss Spain Paula Guillo appeared in a stunning red outfit as the showstopper for Ana’s collection and generated a hearty applause from the audience.
“Ana Locking is a great designer and I am happy to work with her,” Paula said.
