Inquizition 2010 in Kolkata by The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade

Kolkata, September 1 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade’s (IIFT) Kolkata campus held the inaugural edition of ‘Inquizition’, a national-level general quiz recently at Vidyamandir Hall.

The event was designed to attract the interest of the full spectrum of quizzers, from the pro-circuit to college teams to school students.

The prequel to the main event had been a weeklong online quiz, which elicited a response from around 200 teams from elite B-schools all over India. The top two teams from the online round received a wild card entry to the main event.

The main event saw heavy participation from some of the brightest minds of Kolkata’s quizzing circuit.

The quizzers included professionals from organizations like ITC, Tata Consultancy Services and Cognizant Technology Solutions, to name a few.

The champions Souvik Guha (practicing doctor) and Souvadra Chakrabarty (civil servant), who call themselves the ‘Usual Suspects’, had a close fight with the runner-up team, ‘No Name’ comprising of Jayashree Mohanta (Entrepreneur) and Saunak Chakrabarty of Cognizant Technology Systems.

Speaking on the inaugural edition of ‘Inquizition’, Rangrajan, Head, IIFT Kokata campus said, “Today’s activity certainly augurs well for the coming editions of this national level quiz which will continue to be an annual activity at IIFT’s Kolkata campus.”

IIFT is one of the premier institutes in the area of International Business.
