Kolkata, June 13 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Indraneil Sengupta, Koel Mullick starrer Bengali film Doshomi’s first look was unveiled in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Indraneil and Koel will be sharing screen for the first time in the film.
‘Doshhomi’ is set against the background of Durga Puja.
Indraneil said: “This is a completely different experience altogether. For the first time I have been cast in a fully commercial film where I get to dance and behave like a local north Kolkata boy.”
Talking about his character in the film, the actor said: “My character in the film is Avi who is born and brought up in north Kolkata and is in love with Koel’s character Tuli. I hope the audiences like my character as well as the film.”
Koel said: “I am playing the role of Tuli who returns to her home in north Kolkata from US during the Puja and how the equation between Avi and Tuli changes in those five days of the festivity is what the film is all about.”
“I am emotionally attached to this film. I need everyone’s blessings now,” she said.
Debutant director Suman Maitra, who has earlier assisted Bollywood director Vishal Bhardwaj, said: “I have tried to tell the story in a different manner so that it does not seem familiar. Plus, I have two of the most sought after actors of this generation, whose camaraderie is to watch out for.”
The director said the film is about two childhood friends and how their relation takes a twist during the five days of Puja.
Other actors of the film Locket Chatterjee and Pijush Ganguly were also present at the event.
