India navy officer dies in accidental fire

Kochi/New Delhi, July 7 (Calcutta Tube) A senior Indian Navy officer was killed in an accidental fire on board a warship, INS Dronacharya, here Wednesday, it was announced.

‘Chief of Staff of the Southern Naval Command, Rear Admiral S.S. Jamwal, has died in an accidental fire,’ navy spokesman Commander P.V.S. Satish told IANS.

The navy has ordered a high-level inquiry into the death of the 51-year-old.
