New Delhi, Oct 26 (Calcutta Tube) Cyprus may be a small country but India can learn a lot from it on promoting beach tourism, Tourism Minister Kumari Selja said Tuesday.
At a meeting with a four-member delegation from Cyprus, led by Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Antonis Paschalldes, Selja said there was a lot in the tourism sector in which both countries could cooperate.
‘India can learn from Cyprus in the area of beach tourism. If direct air links could be established between the two countries, it will give a fillip to the promotion of tourism,’ she said, according to an official statement.
‘Both the countries can exchange information on the tourism statistics, tourism planning, hotel licensing and classification,’ she said.
Paschalldes said his country’s main tourism products were sports tourism, wellness tourism, religious tourism and beach tourism, attracting around three million tourists a year.
