Panaji, Nov 21 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) The 10 day International Film Festival of India (IFFI) starting from November 23 is all set to bring together cutting-edge features and a goldmine of artistic films.
While pre-IFFI screenings commenced for the registered visitors from today, the official poster of the 42nd edition of the festival was launched by Shankar Mohan, Director IFFI.
The festival poster which will work as the identifying imagery of the festival has been conceptualized by the renowned Art Director Padmashree Thota Tharani, best known for his contribution to Indian cinema through works of art in movies like ‘Indian’ and ‘Nayagan’ which won him the National Film Award for Best Art Direction.
“Tharani has brought the inherent theme of IFFI and presented it through his bold strokes which depict the evolution of IFFI as a brand and its integration of Indian sensibilities with world culture,” Mohan said at a press briefing after unveiling the festival logo.
In a fresh move, the festival organisers this year have reduced the food and accommodation rates for the delegates.
Manoj Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer, Entertainment Society of Goa – nodal agency to host the festival said that the delegates would be provided tent accommodation in the IFFI village, located two kilometres from the Mandovi River
“The delegates will be charged as low as Rs 200 per bed per night including the morning breakfast. Couple of government buses have been roped in to ferry the delegates from the IFFI venue to their accommodation,” Srivastava said.
Police security and medical services would also be available for the registered visitors throughout the festival period.
