Mumbai, Dec 18 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Sony Music Entertainment on Wednesday announced it has acquired music rights of Dharma Productions’ Agneepath.
“Starring Hritik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, Agneepath is one of the much awaited movies of 2012 and a great addition to the growing repertoire of Sony Music,” said a spokesperson.
To reach out to music lovers with six chartbusters from the film, Sony Music first released ‘Chikni Chameli’ digitally on December 12, while the album digitally will be available on December 16t and physical release will be on December 19 across key retail outlets.
Karan Malhotra’s remake of this cult classic comes alive with sensational musical compositions by musical duo Ajay-Atul.
The songs of the movie encompass a wide array of themes ranging from romance, dance to quawalli and devotional making each song blend strongly with the theme of the scene / character.
The extensive use of LIVE instruments for recoding these tracks gives this soundtrack tremendous scale and impact.
Commenting on the acquisition of Agneepath’s music rights, Sanujeet Bhujabal, Marketing Director Sony Music India said, “The six new songs of this film are not only original and refreshing but also soulful and unforgettable.
“This is our 11th venture with Dharma and it’s always a matter of pride and a great experience to work with them. The soundtrack is varied and we expect a great response from music enthusiasts.”
The soundtrack features voices like Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod & Shreya Ghoshal with the highlight being a sizzling dance number ‘Chikni Chameli’ filmed on the nation’s current heart-throb Katrina Kaif.
The film is slated for theatrical release on January 26.
