The bilingual production will also feature the characters of his Republican rival John McCain and former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, reports Los Angeles Times.

Two other musicals about the US president were performed in other countries last year. While “Obama on my mind” was staged in London, “Obama: The Musical” was performed in Nairobi, Kenya.

The production will be performed in a mix of English and German. It showcases Obama’s rise to office through songs and dance numbers. Thirty singers, actors and dancers will perform in the production, which opens in Frankfurt with the possibility of a tour.

Randall Hitchins, an American writer, conceived the project and brought it to the attention of Roberto Emmanuele, a German-Italian producer. The cast is mostly made up of American performers who have experience in theatre in Germany.
