Kolkata, Jan 18 (Calcutta Tube IBNS): ‘Work is Worship’ is an idiom that now aptly fits Tollywood actor Hiran Chatterjee.
In 2007, Hiran’s movie ‘Nabab Nandini’ had hit the theatres and became a box office gainer, but during its making he had suffered a severe back pain due to an accident while shooting.
He was suffering from his back injury since then.
But when six months back Hiran got an offer from Remac Filmz to play the lead in their upcoming movie ‘Macho Mustafa’ where he has to get a new lean macho look, he took the challenge sportingly.
It took Hiran six months of thorough workout with a daily regime of about three hours to achieve the six-packs-abs.
Dr Kshetra Madhab Das, consultant Physiatrist under whom Hiran was being treated, had warned against rigorous workout as it was considered bad for his health.
So workout apart, the actor also had to go through a disciplinary regime of following a proportionate diet which included egg whites, boiled chicken, vegetables, fruits and water.
When asked to Hiran about his brand new look, he said, “After the back injury it was very tough to get a macho look but with the help of God, Abhishek (his fitness trainer) and Dr Kshetra Madhab Das, it is possible.”
The film ‘Macho Mustafa’, the most expensive Bengali film made till date featuring Hiran Chatterjee long with actress Pooja Bose, is slated a February release.
