(IBNS) In the wake of illegal film shootings being carried out in the state, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) has opened a helpline to report any such cases.
“It is noticed that a number of film shoots are carried out without authorized permission or illegally some resulting in extreme damage to public property and loss of revenue to the Government,” the ESG said in a press note.
ESG, established in 2004 is a nodal agency in the organization of the International Film Festival of India and also for issuing film shooting permissions for Goa.
According to the society, the shootings, scripts of which are not approved by the ESG might project Goa in a negative light.
“In case a film shoot is in process without the necessary No Objection Certificate issued by ESG, request to call on 0832-2428111,” the press note reads as.
ESG officials with police assistance have stopped a number of illegal film shoots one of which was at turtle beach Morjim in 2011.
