HCL employee commits suicide in Noida

Noida, Oct 21 (IANS) A thirty-five year-old software engineer employed with HCL committed suicide Wednesday night by hanging himself in his Noida home, police said.

Ratan Kumar, a software engineer working at the company’s office in Sector 127, hanged himself in his house in B-block of Sector 50, said Abhay Pratap Singh, station house officer (SHO) of Sector 49 police station Thursday.

‘Ratan had come back from the office and followed his normal routine in the evening. He had even surfed the net late at night. He then went to a room and hanged himself from the fan,’ Singh said.

Ratan, originally from Hyderabad, lived in Noida since the past four to five months.

No one was present at his house Wednesday as his wife had gone to her parents’ home, along with their daughter.

‘No suicide note was found from his possession. We recovered his mobile and found a message of one of his friends, who was saying that the ‘situation’ would be all right. We are trying to know more about that,’ Singh said.

A case has been registered at Sector 49 police station.
