Kolkata, Dec 4, 2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS): Kolkata is fast shedding its frumpy image with new fashion schools and outlets. On Thursday it added one more. A new institute in fashion designing and interiors-‘Glaamur Fashion and Interiors’(GFI)– opening its gates in the eastern city.
The students will get the opportunity to be groomed by leading fashion designers and professionals in the field like renowned fashion designer Agnimitra Paul and interior expert Swagata Guha from Finesse, who will be the mentor for the students.
“As soon as I entered, I got a great warmth in the ambience. Everything has been thoughtfully designed,” said designer Agnimitra Paul, who is one of the faculty, on Thursday.
“Creativity is the backbone of GFI, we will ensure that the students get the best creative talent that is available in the fashion and interior design industry,” Sheena Singh, Centre-in charge, GFI said.
GFI is approved by the Punjab and Technical Industry and their degrees and diplomas are recognised nationally.
“GFI is going to create waves in the design education industry. At GFI, we cater the students with world class education facilities, best infrastructure, latest curricula, blending theory with practical experience, industry interface and showcase, placement opportunities and regular internships helping our students to stay far and ahead in the fashion and interior design arena,” A Singh, Centre Director, GFI, said.
Fashion Designer Nil, Dev and Kallol Datta were also present at the event on Thursday.
