Kolkata, December 5, 2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) Genesis Hospital, one of the largest healthcare providers of the Eastern region of the country, has introduced an initiative for cost-effective non-surgical treatment of chronic diseases.
This new mode of treatment is conducted at Genesis’s newly opened Centre for Pain and Rehabilitation Medicine (CPRM) here.
Dr.Purnendu Roy, Managing Director and Owner, Genesis Hospitals, and Dr. Sanjoy Chatterjee, Consultant Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation were present to inform the media about this new mode of treatment, and also about the workings of this newly opened facility.
According to Roy, “With chronic diseases accounting for a large percentage of deaths and disability adjusted life in India and substantial growth due to various reasons like nutritional deficiencies etc, the need for effective interventions at reasonable costs are highly required. With this thought Genesis Hospital introduces Centre for Pain and Rehabilitation Medicine (CPRM).”
The Centre for Pain and Rehabilitation Medicine has state of the art facilities for treatment of knee and lower back pain.
CPRM offers treatment through Knee Isometry System which assesses the muscle imbalance, costing about Rs.500 per session; The EMG bio-feedback which helps in muscle reduction, costing about Rs.400 per session; Gait Analysis, which costs Rs.1000; Spiral Sensation (which is the aerial mapping of the disc), costing about Rs.400 per session.
It also offers the Ozone Dissectomy, which is a 15 minutes minimal invasive procedure done under local anesthesia, under camera surveillance with the entire package costs about Rs.18, 000.
Apart from the above mentioned treatments, the Centre also offers facility for post stroke and cerebral palsy management.
