Chhobi Roy, the first actress to act opposite to “then newcomer – Arunkumar” in 1949 in the Bengali movie “Kamana” passed away 3rd September, 2008. She has done many notable Bengali films including “Anjangarh”, “Mantra Mugdha” and more. She retired from acting in sixties. It is heard that Uttam Kumar was chosen as a hero in “Kamana” as Chhabi Roy showed her interest towards our Mahanayak.
