(IBNS): Tollywood actor-filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee turned up on the sets of upcoming Bengali film ‘Dutta vs. Dutta’ on Wednesday to shoot for a small role as filming for the Anjan Dutta-directed movie rolled on.
Speaking about his role, Mukherjee said, ” I am playing the character of Tony Mukherjee, who is an intellectual of the seventies Kolkata. He mainly stays with poetry and high music. Basically he is the product of his time.”
He also talked about his upcoming Bengali movie ‘Hemlock Society’ .
The very young newcomer, Ronodeep Basu, better known as grandson of Tollywood’s legend actor Soumitra Chatterjee, is playing a very significant role in the film.
On being asked about his character, he said, ” I am Rono in the film.This is basically a Anjan Dutta’s autobiographical story and I am playing his character in the film.”
Dutta vs. Dutta is about a boy’s battle with his dad and how he found his dream, future and passion after coming to Kolkata from Darjeeling.
In this film, Dutta has portrayed the real Kolkata of the seventies with the Naxalite-period on one hand crashing into the emergence of western culture, and a culture of high and lively music centered around Park Street.
