Facebook, Twitter bug TV stars

Mumbai, June 13 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Looks like social networking sites are not a rage only on college campuses, but the Facebook and Twitter bug seems to have bitten TV heartthrobs too.

Last heard, hunky actor Gurmeet Choudhary, who plays Yash in Zee TV’s show Punarvivaah is glued to his Twitter account and tweets at least 5 times a day.

On the other hand, his Punarvivaah co-star Kratika Sengar, the “ex- Jhansi Ki Rani” is an avid Facebook user.

While Gurmeet is seen updating his followers about his daily activities, his workout regimen and giving fitness and diet tips to fans, Kratika posts pictures with her co-stars from the sets of Punarvivaah and runs what can easily be called an official fan page for the show on her own Facebook page.

There are innumerable fans of the actress who keep telling her what outfits they loved her in on the show and even discussing what they liked or did not like about the previous day’s episode.

“I look at it as a fabulous instant feedback mechanism. No better way to gauge the pulse of the audience than to actually hear it directly from them and Facebook lets me do just that,”says Kratika.

“And it’s, more often than not, so fulfilling as one realises that people really love you and your work so much. One feels vindicated for all the hours of sweat and toil on the sets .. it all feels so worthwhile!” she says.

Her recent posts reveal that she is missing the good ol’ times at ND studio when she shot for Jhansi Ki Rani and the long drives she went out for in the rains last year.

Gurmeet says, “Currently I am a Twitter boy. I find Twitter safe to use and for me it is a good medium to stay in touch with all my fans, friends, family, co-stars, actors, etc. It updates you with everyone’s lives. Life would be a dull if it weren’t for Twitter. “
