West Virginia, Dec 23 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): At this point when Indian is going gaga about adult-film star Sunny Leone, a scholar discovered a 450-year-old erotic love poem written by a Roman Catholic woman.
Professor Treharne discovered the Latin poem at West Virginia University library. It was inside a 1561 copy of Chaucer.
The vibrant love poem was written by Roman Catholic woman named Lady Elizabeth Dacre to a Protestant scholar, Sir Anthony Cooke, who had served Edward VI.
The poem gave slight hints of a love relationship that could never blossom into reality, media reports said.
Treharne, who translated the poem into English stated that the poem ended with an erotic touch at the end.
She also suggested in her analysis that the poem was written by Lady Elizabeth Dacre during 1550s or 1560s.
