Paoli, Indraneil release ‘Elar Char Adhyay’ music
(IBNS): Actors Paoli Dam and Indraneil Sengupta released the music album of their forthcoming Bengali movie “Elar Char Adhyay” here on Sunday.
Bappaditya Bandopadhyay, director of the movie, Gaurab Chatterjee, music director and actors Rudranil Ghosh and Vikram were also present at the launch at ITC Sonar, Kolkata.
The film ‘Elar Char Adhyay’ is based on Rabindranath’s classic ‘Char Adhyay’.
Bappaditya said: “Remaining faithful to the text, the film is an attempt to bring forward Tagore’s vision to build a nation based on the principles of non-violence.”
“Even the dialogues are kept in the original to capture the true spirit of Tagore,” he added.
Paoli, who will be seen in the role of Ela, said about her part: “This is the first period drama in my life. Ela is very reserved and composed; playing her character was tough and challenging.”
“She is the bold lady of 1930s, bold means in personality. I practised at least for one and half month to be Ela,” she added.
Paoli, who recently drew national attention playing ‘Kavya’ in the film ‘Hate story’, again will be seen in a strong role in this film; so when asked how strong and bold she is in real life, she said: “I think there are some basic traits that every woman has- like strength, willpower and determination.”
Indraneil will be seen essaying Indranaath, a foreign educated Bengali who believes in some strong ideologies.
Speaking about his character, Indraneil said: “Indranaath prefers wearing western outfits and he thinks those who are fighting for country can never have family and they can never fall in love.”
There are total eight songs in the film and singers Sayak Bandyopadhyay, Parama Bandyopadhyay, Asish Sarkar, Somlata, Senjuti Sanyal, Bhaskar Dutta, Abhijit Basu and Tanaya Mukhopadhyay have lent their voices to the songs.
The film is scheduled to hit the silver screen on May 9.
