Kolkata, Oct 25, 2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) Playing like champions, East Bengal blasted Railway Football Club 3-0 at home ground on Monday to move closer to regaining the Calcutta Football League (CFL) for premier division with all wins recorded this season.
After 5-2 win in the previous game against Kalighat Milan Samity (KMS), the red-and-gold whipped the game at will and booted home within four minutes.
Tolgay Ozbay, who struck twice against KMS, slotted home on four minutes and set a third goal for Budhiram Tudu on 64 mintues before Penn Orji struck home two minutes into the second half to give coach Trevor James Morgan his all-win record in the past sixteen games.
East Bengal recorded all five-match win to lift the Federation Cup beating Mohun Bagan in the final by R Vashum goal in Cuttack earlier this month.
Both Tolgay and Penn Orji, the Nigerian scored eight goal each in this domestic league. The last was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his splendid performance.
The win fetched East Bengal 33 points.
East Bengal, winners of local league between 1970-75, had all win records in 1975 and 1977 league championship.
The city giants would now move to New Delhi to play in Durand Cup.
