New Delhi, Aug 11 (Calcutta Tube) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit expressed satisfaction over preparations of the Commonwealth Games and the various projects carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Mayor Prithvi Raj Sawhney said Wednesday.
‘The chief minister, after two hours of inspection in various parts of the city, has informed that she is satisfied with the progress in Games-related work which is carried out in the civic body’s jurisdiction,’ Sawhney said about the two-hour visit.
Sawhney also informed that 90 percent of the work carried out by the corporation is over while there is some patch work which will be over by Aug 31.
‘The street-scaping carried out on 24 roads near five Games stadia, parking facility near Jawaharlal Nehru stadium is already complete,’ Sawhney told IANS.
Sawhney blamed the upgradation work – which involved digging of roads for cable laying – carried out by agencies like BSES, North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) for delaying and hampering the civic body’s work
‘There is a lack of coordination among various agencies in the capital,’ she added.
