New Delhi, Nov 17 (Calcutta Tube) For the first time ever, Delhi Metro’s ridership crossed the 16-lakh mark as a record 16,06,493 commuters used the Metro Monday, an official said Tuesday.
‘The ridership had crossed the 15-lakh figure Sep 27 this year. The Central Secretariat-Sarita Vihar section was opened Oct 3, leading to a further increase in the ridership,’ the official said.
The Metro makes over 2,600 trips every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., covering a network of 156 kilometres across six lines.
