Deb praises Akzonobel India’s initiatives towards Kumartuli

Tollywood Actor DebKolkata, Aug 22 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Tollywood actor Deb on Thursday praised the initiative taken by Akzonobel India of aiding the artisans of Kumartuli in Kolkata.
Kumartuli, or Kumortuli, is a potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata whose artisans are known across the state and even overseas for their skills in making idols of Hindu gods.
Akzonnobel has offered paint worth Rs 4 lakhs to the artisans for painting 4,000 idols of Goddess Durga along with a supply of white chalk, worth Rs 1 lakh.
Speaking at the occasion Deb remarked, “It is a great initiative on the part of Dulux (a part of Akzonobel India), to support Kumartuli artisans.”
Akzonobel Eastern Manager Santosh Kumar said, “This year, the special touch we bring is that we will not only donate free, premium paint for idol painting but we will also paint the streets where the artisans live. This is our Durga Puja gift to the artisans of Kumartuli.”

  1. I think which Dev da is thinking about the initiative taken by Akzonobel of aiding the artisians of Kumartuli in Kolkata,I think yes it is right because I also know about it very well as I had heard this from my parents.
