Charu – Unspoken – Remake of Charulata

Amitabha Neil Ray is making a brilliant English feature film CHARU : Unspoken – which is a modern rendition of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s 1901 story, and inspired by Oscar Winning film maestro Satyajit Ray’s 1964 classic film “Charulata”. Exploring further the depth of human heart within an artistic and intellectual ambiance, this modern story is a tale of three fine individuals; Charu, Anupam and Aakash.

Challenge – Bhaja Gauranga Protest

The latest Raj Chakraborty film “Challenge” starring Dev-Subhashree is indeed receiving some challenges from monks and local people at Nabadwip. They are protesting against the remix version of the super hit song “Bhaja Gauranga”. They protesters felt that the song is used in obscene manner in the film.

The movie Videsh is a great example of what uncertainties await for many people. Preity Zinta as Chand, a young woman, leaves her home and loving family behind in India to build a new life in Canada. She moves to Brampton, Ontario and marries Rocky, a man she has never met. She finds herself trapped in a family where she gets no respect. She is expected to behave like a slave. She works at a factory cleaning and collecting napkins. Being bright and educated she cannot connect her to her new home. She misses India. A lot.

Ek – The Power of One (2009) Bollywood Movie Review

Ek – The Power of One (2009) is an action film starring Bobby Deol in the lead. It’s a Hindi remake of the Telugu film Athadu. The movie is directed by Sangeeth Sivan. Bobby Deol is back after a long break, but his presence may not be good enough for the success of the film. Nandu (Bobby Deol) is a professional assassin who is wrongly accused of assassinating a politician is the plot of the movie.
