Panaji, Nov 21 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) A four-day documentary film festival on Indian Classical dances and Gurus, Dancing Feet will be the offering of Films Division to the delegates of the 41st IFFI, Goa.
[ReviewAZON asin=”B000TVJQZU” display=”inlinepost”]Organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Film Festivals and the Entertainment Society of Goa, this unique festival of 22 select documentaries will be held at the Black Box theatre, Kala Academy, Panaji, Goa from 24th-27 November.
Conceived as a sequel to the hugely applauded film festival on music, Moments with the Maestros held as part of the IFFI, Dancing Feet offers dance lovers from India and abroad glimpses of important classical dances like the Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali, Kathak, Mohiniattam and Manipuri.
Biopic on some of the dancing icons including Sitara Devi, Pt Birju Maharaj, Yamini Karishnamurthy, Sonal Mansingh, Dr. Padma Subramaniam, Raja & Radha Reddy, Uma Sharma Mallika Sarabhai etc are also being screened in the festival.
All these highly decorated and celebrated artistes will also be felicitated during the festival where they shall interact with the media and the delegates.
The Dancing Feet will be inaugurated by Digambar Kamat, Chief Minister of Goa on November 24, at 2.30 pm at the Black Box, Kala Academy, Panaji , in the presence of Sitara Devi, Pt. Birju Maharaj and other dignitaries.
Jagathrakshkan and Choudhury Mohan Jatua, Minister of State for I&B will grace the occasion as Guests of Honour.
