Kolkata, Oct 2 (IBNS): The first step towards participating the marked Indian beauty contest Femina Miss India 2012 tile was undertaken on Sept 29 as Dabur India Limited conducted the first semi-final of the model hunt event titled ‘Dabur Gulabari Miss Fresh Face 2011’ here.
Ten stunning beauties from Kolkata were short listed in the audition, and they will join their counterparts from Northeastern states to fight for the coveted crown of Dabur Gulabari Miss Fresh Face (East) 2011 in the zonal grand finale event.
The finale will be organised in Kolkata on Oct 12.
The Kolkata round saw close to a 1,000 girls from the region filing their nominations for the contest, of which little over 100 were short listed by a panel.
The short listed girls were invited for semi-final auditions to compete for a berth in the zonal grand finale.
The winner of the zonal grand finale will win a one-year modeling contract with leading modeling agency Glitz Modeling besides a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
The top three contestants of the zonal finale will compete with nine more participants from rest of the country in the national finale to be held in Delhi. The winner of which will get a wild card entry into the finale of Femina Miss India 2012.
The contestants were judged by designer Tejas Gandhi, Nicola Gomes city model, Joyeeti Saha, head trainer for Professional Grooming of Frankfin Airhostess Training Academy, Shuchi Narula make-up consultant, AN John, Debarshi Biswas, AVP – Operations, Max Lifestyle Retail and Byas Anand, Head of Corporate Communications, Dabur India Ltd. .
Anand said: “This is our first such beauty initiative in Kolkata. This initiative for us is a unique way of spreading the brand awareness among the beauty conscious women of the city. This pageant will also offer the young girls from the Kolkata a national platform to enter the world of mainstream modeling.”
