Kolkata/Delhi, June 29 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Cotton Council International (CCI), a non-profit organisation devoted to the promotion of cotton, announced the winners of this year’s T-shirt design competition, TeeZing.
The theme this year was ‘Cotton for All Seasons’. Over 3,000 entries were received in which contestants expressed their interpretation on how the versatile fabric works for all seasons.
In the General category Sudevi Sen from Bangalore won first place (Rs. 1,00,000) with an innovative design reminding us to think of cotton as each season rolls around.
Amrendra Kumar’s cotton lucky chimes, brought him good luck with second place (Rs. 75,000). Making a clever play on a famous movie quote, Paridhi Kothari reminded us that whatever the season all you really need is cotton, and took home third place (Rs. 50,000).
The creativity extended into the School category with our younger contestants finding cotton just as inspiring and lacking no talent in expressing their artistry.
The first prize of Rs. 15,000 was won by Jibin Jose of New Delhi with Apeksha Vijay from Ghaziabad, UP and Lavanya Tayal from Faridabad, Haryana winning Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively as second and third prize.
“We chose ‘Cotton for All Seasons’ as the theme to inspire people to look beyond the summer months when they’re thinking of cotton, and I think we’ve achieved that”, said Agnieszka Fijol, Cotton Council International Representative (Program Head-India), speaking on the success of this year’s edition of TeeZing.
The jury comprised of renowned fashion design duo Shivan and Narresh, and a reputed professor from a renowned design institute, Pradipta.
The entries were received through website, Smile Foundation centres – Charity Partner for the event; and various schools, colleges and design institutes across the country.
