The forthcoming film "Karthik Calling Karthik" not only marks the directorial debut of Vijay Lalwani, but it also launches music director Loy Mendonca’s daughter Alyssa as a singer.
When asked about his daughter’s debut, Loy said: "I am very happy. Thanks to the guys. Shankar was handling the department, so he will be the better person to speak on it."
He was speaking at the music launch of "Karthik Calling Karthik" here Wednesday.
Shankar feels Alyssa is a very talented girl. "But she is extremely shy therefore she was scared to sing the song. In the beginning, I told her to sing a rough take of the song ‘Uff Teri Adaa…’ I know her potential because she is a very good singer and composer.
"One day when no one was in the studio, I asked her to sing the song as if she is singing for the final take. But I also told her not to think that she is giving the final take. Later when I presented it to Ehsaan, and the director, they were very happy."
The album of "Karthik Calling Karthik" has six songs and three remix numbers.
"Karthik Calling Karthik" is about a loser Karthik (Farhan Akhtar), whose life changes with the help of someone who also claims to be Karthik. Releasing Feb 26, the film also features Deepika Padukone and Shefali Shah.
