New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) Delhi Urban Development Minister A.K. Walia Friday asked the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to concentrate on cleanliness, even during the nights, in the trans-Yamuna area of the capital.
Walia, who has been asked by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to look after works in the area and also the MCD projects, said posters pasted on walls, banners and stickers in the area needed to be removed immediately.
‘The MCD has been asked to take cognisance of it and move further in direction of slapping ‘challans’ (fines) and registering of FIRs. It has also been asked to put extra personnel to clean up walls and remove posters,’ he said after the inspection.
