Chetan Bhagat at quiz competetion in Kolkata

Kolkata, Nov 17 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Handle disappointments to reach success, said popular writer Chetan Bhagat here as he held in thrall the students at a quiz competition on Thursday.

The 5 Point Someone writer said: “If you want to achieve success then you have to learn how to handle disappointments. Most successful people have seen rejections in their life, so this mental quality is needed.”

Bhagat harped on “faith” and “inner-motivation” that one requires for long term goals.

Chetan Bhagat also spilled the beans on his novels that are likely to be filmed soon.
He said UTV has signed him to make a film on his latest book “Revolution 2020” and B-town heartthrob Ranbir has shown his interest in the film based on “Two States”.

The occasion was an Inter School Science Quiz Competition, titled ELIXIR 2011, organized by Aakash Institute, a preparatory institute for competitive exams.

Speaking about the aim of the quiz competition, Sunil Agarwal, Centre Director, Akash Institute, said: “ELIXIR aims to bring out the best in children and provide a platform for students with an aptitude for science.”

The quiz was hosted by quizmaster Barry O’Brien.

About 41 schools participated in the competition but only lucky eight schools had the opportunity to fight for the first prize.

After defeating seven schools, South Point High School grabbed the first prize. While Delhi Public School Ruby Park and St. Thomas Boys School stood second and third respectively.

The 3 winning teams received certificates and trophies from Chetan Bhagat and apart from this, the winning teams also received gift vouchers for books worth Rs 25000,15000 and 10000 repetitively from M/S Balajee Books.

Speaking about the game the winners said excitedly: “It was a nerve wracking game.”

There was also a fun quiz round for the audience.
