Tintorettor Jishu is the latest Feluda Film releasing December 12th, 2008. Read the brief about the detective film:
Tintorettor Jishu (Tintoretto’s Jesus) is a mystery novel by Satyajit Ray about an adventure of Feluda. A movie directed by Sandip Ray is being made based on the story. An extensive shoot schedule at Hongkong during May 2008 takes Feluda movies to a new height. The book was published by Ananda Publishers in 1983. A famous painting by the Italian maestro Tintoretto is with the Niyogi family. However, not everyone is aware of the value of the painting. One of the family members steals it, and international buyers are interested in it. Feluda chases the criminals all the way to Hong Kong. There was a surprise waiting for him there. Eventually, Feluda (with the help of a relative stranger) succeeds in solving the mystery. The native princes play an interesting part in the history of British India. Though under the protection of the British Raj, they had a certain amount of power within their domain. Apart from patronizing cricket in India, many of them were involved in promoting social and cultural activities in India.

In ‘Tintorettor Jishu’ we meet the (fictional) ex-Maharaja of Bhagwanagarh, Mr. Bhudev Singh. Another ex Maharaja Suruj Singh appears in ‘Golapi Mukta Rahashya’. The young prince of Rupnaryangarh plays an important role in ‘Eber Kando Kedarnathe’. However, the maharajas and the princes are more prominent in the ‘Tarini Khuro’ series, another creation of Satyajit Ray.

Brief:

Deb and Koel is a very successful pair in Tollywood recently. Their first venture “Premer Kahini” produced by Shree Venkatesh Films was a blockbuster. Deb plays “Rahul” while Koel Mullick plays “Ria” in the movie. They meet with each other while travelling to Siligudi. Koel is rinning away from home to meet her boyfriend. The movie captures the scenic beauty of Darjeeling. Rahul is a thief (a so called “good” thief). He is travelling to Darjeeling to sell his treasure. On the way, Deb and Keol encounters each other rather closely, emotionally and help each other multiple times. Thereby they come close without knowing about it very much.

Sounds like a SEEN film? Oh yes. This is the Bengali version of the SUPERHIT hindi movie “Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha” in 1998 that featured Ajay Devgan and Kajol. We wish both Deb and Keol pays proper tribute to the original film!

Aami tomay ek glass doodh debo, tumi amay ek glass doodh debe, tarpor amader ekta doodher moton bachcha hobe - read the review by Saionee Chakraborty at T2 -Hilarious!

Year 2008 has been superb for “romantic love films” in Bengali movie industry in Calcutta Tollygunge. As we are coming close to the end of the year, we are also presented another love story by director Raj Mukherjee - “Love Story” starring newcomers Anshuman and Varsha. Anshuman plays “Saheb” while Varsha portrays “Nandini” - are the central character in the movie. In the film they were actually born in the same nurshing home on a same beautiful day! But the destiny for the two newborns are different when the started counting days in their life. Saheb lost his parents in a car accident and raised by Pagla Baba (Dome in Burning Ghat). Little Saheb is actually thrown out of the auto by his mother just before the accident as she was trying to save Saheb! Little Saheb had no injuries! Saheb faces poverty. Saheb is growing up in peace with the Dome when out of no where Tapas Pal arrives in the film! His sister reports pregnancy due to pre-marital sex with her boss Mithun Dutta. Mithun Dutta denies. Tapas Pal’s sister committs suicide! Mithun Dutta is again Nandini’s uncle. When Tapas pas is burning his sister at the burning ghat, the Dome who recovered Saheb, offered Tapas Pal to take the responsibility of the child! Tapas Pal accepted Saheb as his brother and made his best friend Gajanan (Kharaj Mukherjee) his regal guardian. Finally Tapas Pal kills Nandini’s uncle to go to jail

On the other hand, Varsha grows up in a wealthy family and does not face any bitterness of life. The two young people fall in love with each other eventually. Saheb has four friends who constantlt tried their luck with four friends of Nandini also! So, Nandini’s parents get real angry about the relationship. Nandini elopes and marries Saheb. Saheb formed a Bengali Band for earning with Nandini and few other friends. Nandini becomes the vocalist in the band. They are doing pretty good when Tapal Pal comes out of the jail. Nandini indentifies her uncle’s murderer. Problem begins. Nandini and Anshuman decides to file divorce. However director Raj Mukherjee manages to end the movie in union.

This is probably the worst romantic film made in Tollywood in 2008. Anshuman and Varsha are good looking but desperately require acting lessons. Some of the songs are okei. Tapas Pal is present for very short time in the movie. Kharaj is the only person to look for.

10:10 (Ten pasr Ten) - the first Bengali feature film by the director Arin Paul.10:10 is the latest Bengali Film extremely famous for the PLAYBOY GIRL Claudia in this film.

However, the film revolves around Soumitra Chatterjee who plays - Durgaprasad - an aged don. Soumitra considers Daud Ibrahim as his idol and curses himself as no one feels threatened by him. He was grown up reading stories about Dons and Godfathers all his life and he really wants to be one of them in his life.

Montu Singh and Jhantu Singh (Kanchan Mallick & P. Gayen respectively) are the companions of Soumitra Chatterjee and both of them are are hilarious, fools and cartoons. Montu loves to play with toy guns where as Jhantu loves to be drunk all the time!

Soumitra’s daughter Ranjita ,played by Aparajita Ghosh Das, does not like the Mafia type identity of her dad at all. She fall in love with Apratim (Played by Subrata Dutta).  Apratim wants to be a film hero and gets a chance when Padnava Dasgupta (another young mafia in the film) offers him a chance. But unfortunately, Padmanava and Soumitra are rivals!

Claudia Ciesla is the female hot and sexy journalist who came from Germany to do a report about MAFIAs!

Well,,, I am sure by now you can tell this is a comedy bengali movie. Almost sounds like recent Priyadarshan Movies where you do not want to look for any reason for any incidents at all. If you are looking for some quick fun just go, watch the film. Enjoy Soumitra, Enjoy some skin of Claudia, come back and forget all about it.

Aainaate (2008)

Aainate is the latest Bengali feature film starring Bengali beauty Rituparna Sengupta porteaying a journey into the several nook and corners of social bindings and the compulsions of womanhood. Rituparna Sengupta plays Malini, a photo journalist. Malini always felt contended and secured amidst her family and friends.  She witness the hypocrisy behind the regular masks of family, friends, love - sentiments. As a photo - journalist, Rituparna is more passionate about dead faces. She was devastated when Rituparna discovered the real image of Urmila Sanyal, who has been the icon of her life. Rati Agnihotri, the famous Bollywood actress, plays the role of Urmila Sanyal. Urmila Sanyal is a middle age-high profile socialite.

There has been many other movies with similar stories. So, there is probably no great reason to go and watch the film except Rituparna Sengupta. She is really sensational. Also, Rituparna Sengupta is still very much capable of bringing crowds to the theater. Some of the songs in the movie are good.
