Outline:

“Kolkatai Guru, Mahaguru Sobee ami” - says Prosenjit.
“Chottobelay Suru, Joubone Guru, Apnar Kache Maha Guru” - something close to this was a dislogue by Mithun Chakraborty in the film “Mahaguru”.

Tollywood is flooded with Prosenjit Films this year and some of them are good such as Khela but most of them are trashy films just like Shibaji. Well, Prosenjit is still considered the Hero No. 1 in Calcutta but our recent poll maked Mithun Chakraborty the best choice as a hero and Jeet competing well with Mithunda. Prosenjit is not even close to Jeet at all! But “Rakhe Hori Mare Ke”!

Shibaji is of course Prosenjit whose wife is raped and daughter killed. So, he becomes infamous and start his revenge with dark eye-glass and black shoes! Tapal Pal as a police officer looked better. He actually rapes and kills Prosenjit’s wife! . Shatabdi Roy paid some attention to her character. Ranjit Mullick was as good as before in his small role as a judge.
Shatabdi Roy paid some attention to her charector. Ranjit Mullick was as good as before in his small role as a judge.

Shibaji has nothing to offer other than violence and sex. It is a total waste of time. Also the film is full of item songs with ridiculous lyrics.

If you are not going to watch the film, you will not miss anything.

Brief Review:

Surer Akashe is another Super Hit Blockbuster Bengali Cinema by the Hit couple Tapas Pal - Debashree Roy. Their greatest success was however in the Bengali film “Bhalobasa Bhalobasa.  Similar to this movie, they made another successful blockbuster movie called Surer Sathi together. A nice musical Bengali that you will like to watch. Nothing great other than songs by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle and other singers. Usual love story, but still a better movie compared to other movies in this periods. Debashree Roy is always an added plus point. She is so sweet and cute. You can just watch her even if you do not want to see the movie!

Enjoy All.

Surer Sathi (1989) Tapas Pal-Debashree Roy-Romantic Bangla Movie

Surer Sathi (1989) Tapas Pal-Debashree Roy-Romantic Bangla Movie

This move was produced by “Bhaswati Chitram”.
Tapas Pal is again in another romantic film with the “chocolate hero” image. Tapas Pal Debashree made numerous super hit Bengali movies and some of them are really very good. Well, in this movie Tapal Pal is the singer boy and Debashree simply loves his voice. Madhabi is the dear mother of Tapas Pal (Sanjay in the film). In course of time she comes to Tapas Pal to take music lessons. She eventually fell in love with Tapas Pal. The drama started when Debashree’s parents came to know about the romance!

“Taka diye bari gari sompotti kena jai, karo mon kena jai na!” - Said Tapas Pal to Anil Chatterjee! Well there are more personalities like “Painter” Subhendu chatterjee, the modern “bilet ferot” lad, Tarun Kumar (looked fat).

You know how Bengali melodramas are. Tapas Pal lost his eye-sight after an accident and Debashree was told that tapas Pas was no more. She came to know about the existence of Tapas Pal near the end of the movie. So, to make a very happy end, Tapas Back got his vision back.

Well, I am too big fan of Tapas Pal but I simply admire Debashree Roy. Great music direction by Hemanta Mukherjee also added some positive side to this movie however I think those songs could have been much better. A Good Movie to watch with family and friends.
Note: I am to too sure about the year of release of the film. But it should be pretty close to 85.

Parashmani is one of the good melodramatic movies made in Bengali movie industry. Tapas Pal was somewhat slim and performed well in the film. You also have melodrama gurus like Kali Banerjee and Sukhen Das in this film. I love all Tarun Majumdar movies so I would recommend all to watch the film.
