Kolkata, Mar 7 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): East India-based tech firm C2K Communications has come out with a tablet computer running on Google’s mobile operating system Android for Rs 6,999 or about USD 156.
The seven-inch device comes as part of a three device range whose prices go up to Rs 25,999 with upto 10 inch screen sizes, 1.3 to 5 megapixel cameras, WiFi, built-in 2GB memory and USB port and an SD card slot.

While Apple’s iPad retails in India Rs 27,900 onwards, offerings from Samsung and Dell also fall in a similar price bracket.
Even though the seven-inch tablet features entry-level specs at best, the device is certainly set to make a dent in India’s nascent tablet market.
C2K Communications on Thursday also launched what it billed as the country’s first mobile aimed at ensuring the safety of children using it.
The cell phone range, meant for children aged 3-12 years, comes fitted with features like location tracking, big emergency buttons and parental controls, would sell between Rs 1,799 to Rs 3,499.
