Surajit Dhar is directing a new Bengali film called Britto (Circle.) Saswata Chatterjee who is growing from film to film, has been penciled in to play an important role. “The recession has struck everyone so badly that there are people forced to shift professions from the ones they are skilled at to something very different. Saswata plays a music director who was once famous for his compositions and scores. But he is forced to change tracks for financial reasons created by the recession. We plan to begin the shoot of the film by the end of June. Another noted character is likely to be played by Rudraneel Ghosh as a NGO worker,” says Surajit Dhar. There is a possibility that the film might be made in Hindi and not in Bengali because the subject has national appeal and recession has affected everybody across the globe. “In that case, the shooting location may shift from Kolkata to Mumbai or Pune,” adds Dhar who is now busy with pre-production work in Mumbai. He says that in case the casting changes because of the change in the language, Saswata will remain in the cast. If this comes across, it will be Saswata’s debut into Hindi films.
