Brazilian filmmaker Oscar Marlon Filho’s body flown to native town

Panaji, Nov 30 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Brazilian film director Oscar Marlon Filho’s body was flown to his native town in Sao Paulo from Dabolim International Airport by Qatar Airways early Wednesday.

The body, kept in a wooden coffin, was transported from the morgue of the Goa Medical College to the airport, with security escorts in accordance with the government’s decision after the death certificate was submitted to the Brazilian Consulate on Tuesday.

The body was flown at 4:50am, is expected to arrive Brazil at 2am (Thursday) IST..

Chief Executive Officer of Atlantida Conematografica Luis Henrique Severiano Rebeiro Baez, who arrived Goa along with the deceased filmmaker, accompanied the mortal remains to Brazil.

As a mark of respect, Baez dressed up the dead body in an Indian Sherwani.

56-year-old Filho had died of heart attack after he collapsed while delivering a talk on Football Films at International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Open Forum, Sunday afternoon.
