A little donkey comes to know about a king being born in the stable of Bethlehem; a king who is like no other king. The donkey wishes to visit the king and starts his journey to the far away town to see the king. His master tells him that the story was not true. But the simple creature believes the story and longs to see the king. He quietly leaves for the town of Bethlehem at night. On the way he comes across other animals – a camel, a lion, a hyena, a desert fox, a wolf, a ram, who all make fun of him. They all thought that a king would never care to see a donkey. But nothing could the little donkey to stop his journey. Neither the dark night, the weary way, nor the proud animals could stop him listen to his heart. And then a bright star and the angels guides him on to the roads of Bethlehem where he sees the new born king.

A sweet little adventure told by Gersa Marie Scheidl with nice illustrations by Bernadette Watts. The book is published by North South Books
