New Delhi/Mumbai, April 8 (Calcutta Tube) Bollywood actors and filmmakers are showing full support for social activist Anna Hazare’s movement against corruption. While most talked about it at public events or on social networking sites, some like Anupam Kher and Farah Khan went the extra mile, and flew down to New Delhi to participate in the protest at Jantar Mantar.
Oscar winning Indian composer A.R.Rahman, said: ‘It’s the voice of India, he (Hazare) is the voice of India. We all want change for the good things, for the upliftment of the poor. It (change) is going to happen, nothing can stop it.’
‘I stand in support, as a celebrity and as an Indian. I would like to fight against corruption,’ said actress Kareena Kapoor.
Moved by Hazare’s fast-unto-death to press for a stringent anti-graft law, film director Amol Gupte couldn’t eat his food.
‘In solidarity yesterday, I did not touch my lunch and remembered the old man who is fabulously walking that road in Delhi. So, whenever there is some sense (being spoken) one has to stop and listen to it and follow the leader,’ he said.
