Kolkata, Dec 7 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Kolkata music lovers will be able to start their day by listening to live Shyama Sangeet (devotional songs of Goddess Kali) by singer Srikumar Chattopadhyay.
For the first time, Srikumar Chattopadhyay, son of devotional song exponent Ramkumar Chattopadhyay, will sing live on air and recollect his memories of Kali worship on 92.7 BIG FM.
Accompanying him will be Radio Jokey (RJ) Sumanto, who will narrate renditions of Shyama Mahima (tales of Kali).
Speaking about the show, Srikumar said: “We extend our sincere regards to 92.7 BIG FM for offering their platform towards this exclusive music genre and bringing it to the people who tune into the radio station. This is the first of its kind initiative in the history of radio, where Shyama Sangeet will be explored in a new dimension.”
“I am singing from my heart, so that it can be explained to the mankind that God exists.” said Srikumar here on Wednesday.
“Our aim is to bring spiritual thinking among the people,” said the singer.
Commenting on the occasion, an official spokesperson said: “This new feature in our devotional show is an initiative to bring even greater spiritual experience and emotional satisfaction to the loyal listeners of 92.7 BIG FM. After having pioneered the Shyama Sangeet genre in radio more than five years ago, this is a gift to the city of Maa Kali.”
The show will be aired from 5 am to 7 am every day on 92.7 BIG FM.
