Autograph-Bengali movie sweeps Rising Star awards

Kolkata, Sep 22 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Blockbuster Tollywood movie Autograph claimed maximum awards while young singer Anupam Roy of ‘Amake amar moto thakte dao’ fame from the same film clinched the title “Role model of the year” in the Big Bangla Rising Star awards.

Held at the Science City auditorium on Saturday evening, the show encompassed every form of popular entertainment from theatre to sports and from television to films as Bengal’s rising stars from various fields got awarded for their contribution in their arena.

Autograph was a clear winner at the event as it won three awards which included Best Director, Best Male Singer and Best Female Actor which went to Srijit Mukherjee, Anupam Roy and Nandana Sen respectively.

Srijit showcased the promo of his upcoming film ‘Baishey Srabon’ which had almost a similar cast as of Autograph.

Tollywood biggie and Autograph’s lead star Prosenjit said at the function: “We have made Baishey Srabon investing hard efforts and we think it will be more successful than Autograph.”

Best actor for films in the male category was won by Abir Chatterjee and Ankush Hazra got the best Dance award for burning the floor in his film ‘Kella fate’.

Young melody queen Anwesha grabbed the award for best female singer and the award for the best anchors went to Monalisa and Aneek Dhar for female and male category respectively.

Fossils band head Rupam Islam also added a new feather to his crown by winning the best music director award for his debut venture in Mahanagar@ Kolkata.

In sports, Table Tennis player Soumyajit Ghosh and swimmer Mampi Das won the rising star awards.

The child actors Tithi and Tathoi won best child actor award for the soap “Maa” and the film “Chalo Paltai” respectively.

Performances by Mumtaz, Anupoom and Ankush pepped up the award function.
