Artemis hospital nominated for hygiene excellence award

Gurgaon, Nov 3 (IANS) Artemis Health Institute, a private hospital in the national capital region, has been nominated for the Asia-pacific hand hygiene excellence award.

The award has been instituted by the World Health Organisation (WHO), in association with Hopitaux Universitaires de Geneve (HUG) and the Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control.

Artemis is the only Indian hospital among the 90 applicants from the Asia-pacific region to be nominated for the award. The hospitals were selected on the basis of the standard of hand hygiene practices, cleanliness in the hospital and awareness level of the staff.

‘The hospital has been selected as one of the three hospitals from the Asia-pacific region. We complied by all the hygiene norms recommended by WHO, that helped our medical staff come up to a level of 100 percent hand-hygiene rate,’ said Namita Jaggi, consultant, microbiologist and director, labs and infection control at Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon.
