Kolkata, Aug 1 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) The 11th Eastern India science drama competition was recently held on in Kolkata.
The contest, which was organized by the Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, had participants from schools in Bihar, West Bengal, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, Orissa and Meghalaya.
Actor and drama personality Dwijen Banerjee commented on the event by saying, “it is a really commendable job to arrange this type of competition where science meets arts.”
“Acting itself is a science. The method of characterization is totally mathematics,” he added.
Awards were given for performances in several categories which include scriptwriting, direction, acting and overall group performance.
The winner and first runner-up of the contest were selected to represent Eastern zone in the National Science Drama Festival 2011 to be held at the Bangalore on September 16 and 17, this year.
