(Calcutta Tube: Bengali Movie Tollywood News): Actor-television producer-executive producer Arindam Sil turned director, albeit with two television serials under one big one. One of them is called Ebaro Aranye which is a contemporary relocation of Satyajit Ray’s Aranyer Din Ratri while the other is Choukat based on student politics in Kolkata. The two are part of the series he is producing under the umbrella title Bondhu Tomay, each with a six-episode story. The name of his production banner is Nothing Beyond Cinema. Sil has made some changed in the first story. Much of the shooting has been done at Gorumara forest in North Bengal. Ebaro Aranye featured a bunch of fresh television actors while for Choukat, he picked Debleena Dutta and Tathagata Mukherjee. Bondu Tomay is reported to have raised the TRPs of Rupashi Bangla, a Bengali entertainment channel launched some time back. More muscle to Arindam’s new role and one hopes he jumps on the feature film bandwagon soon.
