Kolkata, Mar 25 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Bengalis living in London and New Jersey can relive the flavours of their homeland as the cities are all set to host the Anandabazar Patrika KKN Ananda Utsav 2011.
The event will be held at Alexandra palace in London and Garden State Exhibitor Centre in New Jersey (U.S.).
“We are happy to reach to the Bengalis sitting outside, it is a way of bringing the best of Bengal to them and we do expect to get good response in London and New Jersey as the percentage of Bengali’s staying there is really high,” Kaushik Banerjee, Vice President, ABP said.
“The Anada Utsav is an event of great stature and the perfect platform to promote Bengali culture among the non-resident Bengalis and KKN is very happy to be a part of this cultural journey,” Kausshik Kumar Nath, MD, KKN Group of companies said.
The events will witness few of the best Indian performers performing for their fans abroad.
Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Gulzar, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shaan, Amaan Ali Khan, Raghab, Subhamita, Rupankar and Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Hari Prasad Chaurasia will be seen entertaining their fans at the venues where the event will be staged this year.
In London, literature lovers will witness a unique experience as lyricist Gulzar is all set to present Rabindranath Tagore’s poems in Urdu on Apr 1.
The visitors can participate in the shopping opportunities besides tasting Bengali cuisine at the venues during the festival.
The London edition of the festival will be held from Apr 1 to Apr 3 while the event will take place at New Jersey from May 27 to May 29.
