London, June 14 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Actor Amy Jackson said she is excited about her upcoming South Indian film Thaandavam opposite superstar Vikram.
Speaking at a press conference in London on Wednesday, Jackson said: “Vijay (the director) is the reason I am here today. He introduced me not only to Indian cinemas, but the entire culture of the country. The very first time we met two years ago was in London.
“I have learnt a lot during the shooting of this film. It has been a lot easier for me as it is my home country and London has been fantastic. It has been great shooting here.”
“Hopefully, the audience will really enjoy the movie when it releases in September,” she said.
The 21-year-old model-turned-actress started shooting her third Indian film in the British capital in the first week of April and will be leaving for India on June 15.
Thaandavam is an action entertainer in the backdrop of two countries, India and the United Kingdom.
It shows how an honest officer gets entangled into a conspiracy and his attempts to save the people and his country’s honour from the conspirators.
The film is directed by Vijay of Madrasapattinam fame, which was Jackson’s debut feature film.
Thaandavam also stars stars Anushka Shetty, Jagapathi Babu, Lakshmi Rai, Nasser, Santhanam amongst others.
Former Miss Teen World and Miss Liverpool 2009 Jackson, who was born and brought up in the UK, has been working in Indian cinema for the last three years.
