Amitabh Bachchan thanks fans over Twitter

Mumbai, Feb 13 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan thanked his fans on Sunday for their wishes during the surgery he underwent recently.

“Hundreds of messages and calls from all over wishing me well .. I am too grateful for this, and once on my feet shall respond too,” Bachchan tweeted.

Bachchan also informed his fans that he is suffering from ‘stinging spasm pain’.

“Pushing myself to get up and on my feet by the bed .. stinging spasm pain … back in bed .. but will try again,” Big B posted on his Twitter account.

Bachchan on Saturday successfully underwent a surgery at a hospital in Mumbai.

His son and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan tweeted to his fans to give an update on his father’s health on Saturday afternoon.

“Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. The surgery went off well and dad is now in the room resting,” Abhishek tweeted.

A regular user of micro blogging sites and blogs, Big B continuously informed about his health condition through his blog posts.

Earlier, in another of his blog posts after revealing the news, he linked all his health problems as ‘a legacy of the past in particular the accident of 1982 and Coolie’ adding that the ‘subsequent disturbances have all and shall emanate from it.’

He was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in 2002 and later in 2005 he was treated for perforated diverticula-holes in the wall of the intestine.

And again in 2008, the actor suffered problems in stomach due to incisional hernia.
