Allahabad High Court rejects petition for Ayodhya verdict deferment

Lucknow, Sept 17 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Friday rejected an application for deferment of the verdict on the Ayodhya verdict scheduled on Sept 24.

Even as the administrative machinery is geared up to combat  any possible violence after a court verdict on the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid issue on Sept 24, a petition was filed to delay the judgement before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.

The verdict on the 60- year-old Ayodhya title suits to determine who owns the disputed land is being awaited with eagerness by both the Muslims and Hindus and with consternation by the governments tasked to prevent riots over the issue.
